VM Workstation 7 performance with Ubuntu 9.10 64-bit

I have a Acer Aspire 2930Z (Intel T4200, 4GB memory, and 320GB HDD), the notebook is note the fastest I know, but it was always able to keep up with what I do with it.

Normally I'm work only in Ubuntu 9.10 (64-bit) Linux, this works more then I could wish for. But sometimes I need to use MS Windows, therefore I have installed VM Ware Workstation, which I recently upgraded to version 7.

With VM Ware Workstation 7 (64-bit) the problems started, MS Windows XP, which I run in VM Workstation 7 is now getting slow, and I mean slow to the edge of uselessness. I already downgraded the graphics of Win XP and set all options to performance... still it is pretty slow...

Is there something I missed, some new settings I overlooked?

With Vmware Workstation 6.53 I never had that problem, actual I was able to play some action games using MS Windows XP. Now this games seem like a slow-motion movie from times long gone...

It may be worth rolling back to 6.53 until 7 gets a few more miles on it

Assign the XP VM one processor and one core within VM workstation manager.
Let us know if it works. Worked for me.

Cheers,
