video card drivers

i think i found some video card drivers, for an old ATI Rage Pro 16mb card i have in the PC, but me being new and all i can't figure out how to install them. it's a RPM file if that makes any difference. So can someone help me get them installed.

I usually use 'alien' to install rpm packages in ubuntu.
alien can be used for converting rpm packages to debian packages.

# alien --to-deb [your rpm pack.rpm]

and then, try to install it
# dpkg -i [your deb pack.deb]

thnx for the help, i did that and it said unpacking myfile.deb, then setting up myfile.deb then it didn't do anything, is there something i did wrong?

Edit: on a side note how do i change the splash screen in ubuntu?

Edit 2:Where do i place wallpapers on my system, so that theywill stay there?
