Using Curl command

Hi , I am attempting to download the newer version of Ubuntu using the curl command. The instruction that Jeremy posts starts our by saying to use a shell prompt. Is that something that is accessible using the "Terminal"? If so, how do I get to the shell prompt?

Then do I enter the following:
http://us.releases.ubuntu.com/releas...stall-i386.iso$ curl -C - -O 'url_for_ISO' ?

Where will the downloaded file go?

If I loose connection, what do I type in so that it will resume where it lost connection?

After i get this file downloaded and convert the ISO to a bootable disk, do I need to delete the previous version of Ubnutu prior to installing 5.04 or will it overwrite it?

Thanks,

Ray

I don't think you can resue a download if you lose the connection.
