USB Write-Protected (Read-Only Mode) After GParted Install
 
I installed 'GParted' on my Ubuntu 11.10, and now when I plug in a USB drive and try to copy files into it, I get a notification that the drive is 'read-only'. Pls how do I resolve this USB problem?

I don't see how simply installing GParted with your Ubuntu package manager will make a drive read-only.
Were you able to read/write to this/these drives before?
What is on the drives? Number of partitions, filesystem types?

Thanks for your response.

I'm surprised that this happened after GParted install. This is an NTFS USB that I've been using without any problem before. It started with a GParted install, then I lost the 'write' permission on my partitions, and then everything went downhill from there.
