USB Write-Protected (Read-Only Mode) After GParted Install
I installed 'GParted' on my Ubuntu 11.10, and now when I plug in a USB drive and try to copy files into it, I get a notification that the drive is 'read-only'. Pls how do I resolve this USB problem?
Thanks! |
I don't see how simply installing GParted with your Ubuntu package manager will make a drive read-only.
Were you able to read/write to this/these drives before? What is on the drives? Number of partitions, filesystem types? |
Hi Yancek,
Thanks for your response. I'm surprised that this happened after GParted install. This is an NTFS USB that I've been using without any problem before. It started with a GParted install, then I lost the 'write' permission on my partitions, and then everything went downhill from there. Here's the whole story in this thread: |
