Upgrading to the newest Ubuntu release

The newest Ubuntu release is supposed to be coming out tomorrow. Once it is released, will an apt-get update and apt-get upgrade be all I need to install it? How would you go about upgrading everything?

You've got some crummy sources in there, like koti.mbnet.fi, which isn't around any more.

Get a fresh list and try again.

I upgraded from dapper to edgy today and there is one really important thing to do;

change your sources.list where it says dapper, change it to edgy

THEN

apt-get update and MOST IMPORTANTLY

apt-get install xserver-xorg

then do you apt-get dist-upgrade.

If you do the upgrade first, your Xsession will fail ,but you can fix with the above commands and restart X and it works (it's just nerve raking if you don't expect it).

A lot of you have really long sources.lists. I add them and remove thema s I go, so I don't know if all your repos will be current.

Sorry, I should have mentioned for bobber that you access your sources.list with
sudo vi /etc/apt/sources.list,

press I to make changes, type in your changes and then :w to write and :q to save.
