Upgraded to 8.10, need to force mouse drivers - how?

Hi,

I've just upgraded to ubuntu 8.10 from 8.04 and found my mouse acting strange, so I went into Xorg.conf and found that HAL had taken over the control of the drivers.

How can I force HAL to use the vmmouse driver instead of evdev, I'm working in a VM at the moment and like the added functionality that the vm driver gives.

Thanks in advance!
