[SOLVED] Update to Ubuntu 10.04LTS freezes; want to get rid of it

A few days ago I carelessly let the Update Manager change my Ubuntu 10.04LTS from the 2.6.32-57 kernel to 2.6.32-61. The 2.6.32-61 crashes the system by freezing the mouse and making all windows inactive. I can
always just boot the 2.6.32-57 kernel but that's a nuisance. How can I get rid of 2.6.32-61? I'm using
grub to boot and running Ubuntu under windows.

you can manually edit /boot/grub/grub.cfg to point to the earlier kernel, if it hasn't been uninstalled.
if you're running ubuntu inside windows, is it safe to assume that it is not the server edition?
ubuntu desktop 10.04 has been end of life for a while now, you will not find happiness in clinging to it. don't attempt to update/upgrade it.
