That should be
kdesu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade" - and only if you are using KDE as your DE.
If you are using the default Gnome, use
gksu "sh /cdrom/cdromupgrade" instead.
As an aside, I always prefer a "clean" install - but this only works (properly) if you have /home on a separate partition.
