So I tried Unbuntu live disk on my Avertec laptop and everything worked. Amazing!

So I decided to install it. And everything didn't work. Amazing!!!

The wireless card worked under the live version, now doesn't work.

X11 Hz is set to 60, while the live disk was set to 70Hz and looked great. Now it looks like shit.

Can anyone help out with these two hardware problems?

Can anyone explain why the live disk worked, while the install flopped on these two
critical pieces of hardware?

Nothing yet, just very suprised between the live disk and the actual install.

....The important difference in the Live CD and normal Ubuntu distributions lies in the hardware detection. The Live CD hardware detection is based on Knoppix, which is different than the debian-installer used by the normal Ubuntu distribution. This will be unified in the next release of Ubuntu, but means that meanwhile it is possible that the Live CD may work on hardware that the normal Ubuntu install doesn't and visa-versa....
