Unable to mount network shares.
Hi all.
I have a Ubuntu system which I am trying out. I also have Fedora/Red Hat/Gentoo systems running aswell. For some reason I am unable to mount a smb/cifs share with the Ubuntu box. It works fine with the Gentoo/RH/Fedora box when using the command.... # mount -o username=john //192.168.200.1/share /mnt/share It prompts me for a password and lets me in. With the Ubuntu system, I get bad fstype or superblock etc. etc. If I use smbclient with Ubuntu, it does work. Any ideas anyone? Thanks Craig |
apt-get install smbfs :)

I've been circling the forums for hours trying to figure that one out. Problem solved. Cheers!

Good to hear :) I don't know why it isn't included by default. Oh well.
