After installing send mail the computer had some errors on boot I ignored them, everything worked out fine. a few minutes after logging in, icons started disappearing, the computer could not find where the icons were, then nothing worked. I rebooted and it stops booting towards the end of the boot process. A message comes up saying
/usr/sbin/apache is not executable
a few seconds later the boot screen disappears and text boot info fills the screen.
/etc/network/if-up.d/sendmail: line 42 /usr/share/sendmail/dynamic: no such file or directory
run-parts: /etc/netowrk/if-up.d/sendmail exited with return code 1
...done.
So far I have tried booting up with an older kernel, the same thing happened. Help is desperately needed. If there is any way to fix this via repair mode please tell me.

I would try these,

1. use your Ubuntu LiveCD to boot the system
2. mount the partition where you had your system installed on, lets say /mnt/tmp
3. change permission of /mnt/tmp/etc/init.d/sendmail to 600
4. reboot your pc and then fix the config errors in apache & sendmail

or, you can simply boot into single user mode and do the same change.

Thats the problem it cant find the file there in /tmp/etc...
I changed the permission for the send mail files in /etc.network/if-up.d/sendmail and the one in /etc/init.d/sendmail.
It still wont boot it appears that is not the problem. It still stops booting in the same place (at loading apache) but no longer has the errors about snedmail. In fact, it only has one error on the bottom
...done.local boot scripts (/etc/rc.local)ne 6: setLEDasus Wireless: command n...(It gets cut off I assume it says command not found).
This error was there when I was having my sendmail problems I just never noticed it.
