Ubuntu Randomly Restarts

Im fairly new to linux, but have willingly switched over from windows.
Ive been encountering a slight problem though. Im running Ubuntu Feisty Fawn using Gnome. While using it for any random period of time the computer will just go black and restart on me. No particular patterns or reasons obvious why! Its weird.
I was wondering if anyone heard about this before, or can give me guidance in troubleshooting this problem. Thank you.

Okay, well...
I see that its somehow connected to my external hard drive. Im assuming its because its an NTFS formatted drive. Anyone ever have a problem similar?

Well. I guess it has something to do with gnome. Right now ive been using enlightenment window manager and have had no problems. I wonder why that is???
But yeah. For future searches on these forums if you have an external hard drive, using gnome, and have frequent crash/restarts when using or modifying files from that drive---try switching window managers. Cheers.
