Ubuntu live cd properly buned! I get the message 'boot failed'
 

I never heard of Ubuntu until a few days ago. I downloaded and poperly burnt the live cd but it will not boot. I get the Ununtu screen with the choices and on top "loading invalid or corrupt kernel image" but then get the message 'boot failed'press any key. The PC then boots to Windows XP. How do I get into linux from the Ubunyu live CD? [/SIZE][/SIZE]

I would re-burn the iso (image) again and if possible have the software you use verify the success of the burn process.

If the CD you burned only has one file on it it was the wrong kind of burn. With an iso burn the iso file is uncompressed into many files on the CD. On occasion media that appears to burn correctly won't and that will be a media problem.
