I recently upgraded to Karmic and now it randomly just logs me out while I'm working. I really don't want to reinstall Karmic since I would have to go back and remember how to do file/print sharing with my windows machines. This same box has had both Intrepid and Jaunty running on it and they both worked great. Help!
According to some users on the Ubuntu forums the xorg-edgers package archive is to blame. You may try disabling that, I would make note of what has been installed from there and remove it as well if disabling it doesn't work.
A complete reload fixed all my issues. Its not what I wanted to do but after starting fresh everything runs soooo much beter. Karmic.. Ex my Compiz benchmark went from around 60F/S to 195.
