ubuntu internet sharing via windows xp = BBC News Home Page

I have a problem with my ubuntu dapper. :(

Lately when you open firefox it loads BBC News page in stead of google.I have verified the home page setting via Firefox > Edit > Preferences and it is alright.

The computer is running ubuntu dapper.
It gets it's internet connection from the host pc which is windows xp sp2.
The windows machine has the internet via ADSL and is configured through a Dlink DSL-502T ADSL router. The windows machine is fine it's just the ubuntu machine.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Weird. When you click Firefox > Go > Home, does it take you to www.google.com? If yes, make sure the first section in the "Navigator" preferences, Display on Navigator Startup is set to "Home" not "Last Page Visited".

yer it still does the same thing, and it also did it once on the xp machine today.whicj tells me it might have something to do with thr router maybe???
The weird thing is it only does it say 65% of the time maybe less even. You can restart the pc and it is fine, or even just reopejning firefox or plain mozilla a couple of times fixs the problem.

definately weird.
