I saw this web site and Annual report, and I am pretty sure that this is not the Ubuntu Foundation supporting the Ubuntu software. First, on the 2006 Annual report, it says that the largest grant to date was a USA PEPFAR grant of $1.2M. Also the 2006 annual report discusses how this is its 8th year. Therefore this foundation started in 1998. The inception is described as
"Two men of different race and generation - one South African, one American - are partners in a common cause. From a chance meeting in 1998 in New Brighton Township, South Africa, Banks Gwaxula and Jacob Lief came to realize that they shared more than a common interest in soccer. The two shared an abiding belief in the power of education."
Mark Shuttleworth is not listed on any of the Boards or executives. I cannot find software anywhere in the mission or annual statement. The first page of the Annual report discusses the Foundation's support of AIDS and education, and lists the founders as Jacob Lief and Malizole Gwaxula.
Are you sure that this is the Ubuntu Foundation that is supporting Ubuntu Software? If so, can you point me to a link or reference to software?
