The problem is your Xserver config in "/etc/X11/xorg.conf" and simply copying the xserver files from the live cd won't work since the xorg.conf is build during the boot up of the live cd.
My guess to make this work the easy way. easy way meaning you don't have to post what video card you have installed and you xorg.conf file.
would be to 1) boot the live cd.
2) mount the root partition of your harddrive to /somemountplace, change that to a real location.
3) start a terminal and type "sudo cp /etc/X11/xorg.conf /somemountplace/etc/X11/xorg.conf" press enter. change /somemountplace to where ever you mount the harddrive in step 2.
5) if I'm half as smart as i half-ass think i am the xserver should boot.
If it still doesn't post what video card is installed in your machine and your currect xorg.conf.
i think your real problem is that demudi doesnt install over ubuntu. ubuntu is based on debian but the two are seperate distros. demudi is based on debian. i tried to install demudi over ubuntu a bunch of times to no avail. i did a clean solo install of demudi and it works. i had errors during the install where it didnt install gnome or something. apt-get couldnt find my cdrom so i finished the installation as would be expected, logged in as root, mounted the cdrom, and ran base-config. not sure if it was needed but i did the install from the cdrom again, and then changed apt-get to use an http or ftp server to install gnome and other system files. after that it runs fine. hope this helps.
And i'm so tired of this finnickyness leading to nowhere...
...I pray i collect my all my strenght to resist but...
its becoming hard and harder every time.
I tryed demudi-live 1.2 and after all the errors as above have been described it continued and i sighted hopping for the bettering of it all
until booting stopped and presented the following query: «ubuntu login= _» and i remain there for a while trying every retarded ideas coming
to my mind and obtaining the sama response: login incorrect.
For Pete's sake: WHAT DO THEM LINUX WIZARDS WANT PEOPLE TO TYPE???
I'm sick and tired to spend time and CDs to experiment Linux Krapware issued by these irresponsable Gurus who manufacture and advertise their
stupid abortions as something new and deserving newbees' attentions. MY CURSE ON THEM!!!
At first, DeMuDi/AGnuLa is dead since 2005, also, as the post above yours state clearly: It is DeMuDI, not UMuDi. Ubuntu is not Debian. Don't blame other people for your mistakes with trying to use dead software on the wrong platform.
If you want to use multimedia production software on Ubuntu I would recommend to go for Ubuntu Studio instead.
