Evelution was set online. However I was mistaken about the connection to the internet, the only applications working is Firefox and BitDefender anti virus.

I tried # vi /etc/modprobe.d/aliases in a terminal but a notice came up could not find a file called aliases.

I'm not very successful trying to disable ipv6 in Ubunto. If I can't find a way soon I will go back to Ubuntu 9.04 and give 9.10 a miss.

I tried that site and copied sudo gedit /etc/default/grub into a terminal but the gedit file that opened was empty so I couldn't find

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX to edit.
