Ubuntu 9.04 & D-Link DWA-552 problem

I'm running a dual-boot system of Windows 2000 Pro and Ubuntu 9.04 on a Pentium 2.4GhZ 1GB RAM desktop machine. My problem is when I boot-up in Ubuntu, it will lock-up (screen freezes, hitting the 'reset' button is the only way out) either after having been on the Internet for any length of time or when attempting to gain access to the Internet through my DSL modem or my neighbor's unsecured DSL modem. I don't have a problem when using Windows 2K however. I'm guessing that there's something afoot between Ubuntu and the D-Link wireless card I have in my desktop. Any ideas?

Have a look at these posts, it appears there are known issues with the drivers.

Thanks for the info.

However, on the Linux Mint post, I can only get to the part where you enter 'svn co http://svn.madwifi.org/madwifi/trunk' in the terminal. There, I get 'Could Not Resolve Hostname' and 'Hostname Not Found'. I went to the madwifi.org website and tried a couple of variations I saw there to no avail. That's a horrible website, btw. Looks like someone put that together ten years ago.
