Ubuntu 5.10 32bit or 64 bit on NF3/250?

Hello all.

I may have missied a posting on this, but would I benifit getting the 64bit version of 5.10 Ubuntu over the 32bit version.

I'd like to utlize my Athlon xp 64bit xp3400 Nforce 3 250 ultra Dfi board as long as I could get all hardware working which of course includes my Hp printer, Gforce FX5500, Two dvd burners, two Ide maxtors and one sata maxtor.

I would like to put it on my 100 gig Sata drive by it self. I'd still have xp on my master IDE drive, but I can set up in the bios which one I'd boot from.

This would be the first time putting linux on a newer system.

I do have Slackware 2.6.15 on a PII 550 that is running good.

Just thought I'd try Ubuntu on my Athlon xp 64.

Also, you guys running the 64bit version, do you see a speed increase?

Thanks...

Mitch.

if you have a 64 bit athlon i see no reason not to use the 64 bit ubuntu. It will only optimize the OS to be run at 64 bit. It should still have all the same features and therefore have no differences in dealing with other hardware
