Totem-Xine for DVD, wont open again

Hi all,

I installed Totem-Xine as Ubuntu Guide says, just to have totem playing my DVDs =, but it just opens and close again.

Any ideas :-/

Do you have libdvdcss2 and win32 codecs installed? These are not installed by default in Ubuntu. Also I would recommend Xine or Mplayer for DVD's, much better than Totem IMHO.

Yes, i have all of these installed, i am just going back to Totem-Gstreamer ... :S

If you open a terminal window and execute totem from the command line you may get additional information on whats going on. Almost any GUI application will give you more information when you start the ap from the command line.

For some reason, Totem will choke on the size of the logo image.

Find the file: /usr/share/totem/totem_logo.png

Resize it to 640x512 and all should be good.
