Strange messages from 64 bit ubuntu

Ok, so I just got an awesome compaq 64bit laptop, 1gb of ram, really fast. Anyway, I tried to install Ubuntu 5.10 breezy 64 bit on it, and it freezes. Any ideas? It says something about keyboard set 2 or something.

Thanks,
-Peter

If you could get us the exact error message and the point at which it fails, that'd be really helpful. Thanks.

This I can do. [odd kernel message numbers] input: AT Translated set 2 keyboard on iso0060 serio0. I hope this helps you figure this out, I hate using winblows.

Thanks,
-Peter

http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthre...d+set+keyboard unfortunately suggest that it could be a bug in the distro. Beyond submitting a bug report, there may be little you can do.

No probs - the joys of being an early adopter, I'm afraid.
