How did you install this software? Did you just copy files and attempt to run them?

Segmentation fault is a memory access error and it could be because you're trying to run an executable file which is inappropriate for your particular system.

Welcome to LQ.

The Ubuntu 'nam' packages have not been usable for a long time.
Please do : $ sudo apt-get remove nam

And then download a package that will work ...
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...-4175524760/#2
... When downloaded, click the package : It will be installed.

Thanks a lot for your reply. I followed your instructions.I downloaded the nam from the link you mentioned and installed it.But when I tried to run nam on terminal after installing the package, this message appeared:

bash: /usr/bin/nam: No such file or directory

Could you help me solve this?

I run on the terminal: $ hash -r to flush the bash cache. I run nam again and got the nam animator window.
Thanks again for your help.
