Question Security Onion Interfaces

I am in the process of installing security onion IDS/IPS and I have come across an interface command that I need some help with.

This is the command:
post-up ethtool -G br0 rx; for i in rx tx sg tso ufo gso lro; do ethtool -K br0 $1 off; done

What I need to know is where can I go to tell me what each of these acronym mean:
rx tx sg tso ufo gso lro

Thanks
Vic

Since you just copied the command from somewhere, why didn't you read what it was actually DOING, before running it? You've been here seven years at this point...did you do any research before posting?

rx = receive
tx = transmit
sg = scatter/gather
ufo = udp-fragmentation-offload
gso = generic-segmentation-offload
lro = large-receive-offload
tso = tcp segmentation offload

Don't ask people to look things up for you.

Interface commands

I was not looking for anyone to provide the answer. If you took time to read my entire post you would have read that what I was looking for was a place to go to find the documentation to provide the description. I had done some looking and was unable to find the answer as to the description.

While I have been a member for several years I have not been active in the Linux world much at all. I joined originally to find an answer to how to stop SSH attacks which I did find here. The hands that I worked with that provided the Linux support have either retired or were let go and now the responsibility has fallen to me.

But I thank you for providing the answer.

Vic

Sorry, but just looking up ethtool and reading the documentation gave me the two terms I wasn't familiar with, and I found all of them within a minute or two with a brief Google search. Doing basic research on your own should be the FIRST thing you do. If the system responsibilities have fallen to you, then you need to be able to learn on your own.
