I would install the regular 32 bit version if I were you. Unless you like setting up chroot for wine, libdvdcss and a bunch of other stuff. I am getting ready to wipe away my 64bit version and do the 32 bit version so I can run more apps. Shame too, I thought I would see a big difference in performance with a true 64bit OS, but it wan't that different to me.
Don't get me wrong, Ubuntu is still the best disrto for me, but I think as a newbie 32 bit is easier as it is more common.
