Reinstall grub
Recently had to reinstall windows, and now grub is gone. Have searched the forums and tried the suggestions there, but when I try to do grub-install /dev/hda6 I either get an error like /boot not found, or if I do the chroot /media/hda6 (where linux is located) it then tells me /dev/hda.
What am I doing wrong?
I have Linux installed on a partition on a 200GB ide drive, which also has an ntfs partition on it, and a small 300MB fat partition (the first partition) which I was previously told I needed for booting to work (I don't think I did in the end, so used it as a swap drive between Linux and Windows). Windows is installed on a striped array. I did have grub installed on the IDE drive before I lost it, and haven't been able to install it back on.
BTW am running Kubuntu 6.10.
