Reconfigure kernel after upgrade?
Hi!
I have just upgraded my cpu from Pentium to an AMD Sempron 3000+. Breezy Badger is running faster than ever, but still thinks It is an Intel on bootup, so could probably run even better with a reconfiguration...! Is there an easy, preferably graphical way to reconfigure the kernel? Reading threads on the net I gather that the Sempron should run on a K7 setup, but I am still in a relatively "Newbie" stage, and have never tried reconfiguring before. Many thanks, Nick |
yeah. all you need to do is go to "synaptic" and install the appropriate AMD kernel......
ubuntu will download it, install it then configure the boot loader. as i recall all you will need to do is then reboot. and you will have a new option on your boot menu. if you're happy it works you can use synaptic to uninstall the old kernel. |
