Recent apt-get upgrade Corrupted Network Manager Twice 14.04.3 LTS Trusty Tahr
Hello,
The last upgrade corrupted "NetworkManager." It wont even load. Can anyone tell me how to repair NetworkManager without Internet? I have a DELL Quad Core Inspiron 5520 Laptop. The following packages were part of that upgrade: curl, google-chrome-stable, i2p, i2p-router, libcurl3, libcurl3-gnutls, libjbigi-jni, libnl-3-200, libnl-genl-3-200, libnl-route-3-200 When I tried to start NetwokManager manually, I got the following error message: (NetworkManager:3551): GLib-WARNING **: GError set over the top of a previous GError or uninitialized memory. This indicates a bug in someone's code. You must ensure an error is NULL before it's set. The overwriting error message was: Key file does not have group 'connectivity' If anyone can give me an opinion about which package(s) corrupted NetworkManager this would be extremely helpful. This is very serious. I basically can't do any more upgrades until this problem is resolved. Thanks, Hannibal |
that error is just a warning.

how did that upgrade go otherwise? all fine? have you rebooted? if you want an answer to this: Quote:
but i think the main problem is to get network connectivity back. please try the tools nmtui nmcli included in network manager, and report back how it goes. |
