Real Player, not launching uninstall?...

I installed Real Player by downloading the .bin file from real.com/linux, and then running the following commands in terminal,
chmod +x RealPlayer10GOLD.bin
sudo ./RealPlayer10GOLD.bin

when i click on the link in applications, i get the following error message,
Could not launch item
Failed to execute child process
"realplay" (No such file or directory)

how do i fix this, or uninstall realplayer, either option sounds good to me, seeming that there is an easier way to get real player.
Thanks for helping me, MJ

Hey,

Can you launch realplayer from the terminal (Applications->System tools->terminal: $ realplayer)?

I tried that, and it did not work, but i'm not sure that i fully understood what you asked me to do,... MJ

Sorry mate, I give you the menu path to use on gnome and I don't even know if you are using it.

Anyhow theres probably no point bothering testing it just reinstall it, delete the current installation of realplayer by deleting the directory it is installed in (its probably /usr/local/RealPlayer). You'll have to be root to do this, so easiest to use the terminal (the thing you enter commands into) again :)

Ok what you'll have to enter in the terminal, I think, will go something like this:

1. Change to the directory realplayer is in e.g. $ cd /usr/local
2. Delete the realplayer directory e.g. $ sudo rm RealPlayer

Now reinstall realplayer - hopefully it won't be buggered up this time.

Chris.
