Random network disconnect: Netgear WG311T
Linux newbie here. I am using a Netgear WG311T wireless card. I can connect to my network/internet just fine, but it throws me off at random times. I have Ubuntu installed on both this PC and my laptop; my laptop works just fine (so I'm thinking the problem lays in my network card, but not sure what to do about it). Thanks for taking the time to read my problem :)

Are there any other wifi clients onj this AP that get randomly disconnected ?
if so try changing the wifi channel on the AP, scan the area and see what your neighbors are using then use a channel at lest two away |
No, the win32 boxes can stay connected just fine. Just this box that's having trouble :( I will try the channel change method and tell you how it works, though :)

Fixed! Thanks!

Just broke again :'(

what about location and interference, try moving to where the windows boxes are working.
if that does not help I would investigate other drivers for the wifi card, you should not be having this sort of problem. |
That was the first thing that I tried. It was working for about 3 days, then I booted into Windows for an hour or so. When I booted back into Ubuntu, the problems started up again
Edit: I checked the system logs at the time of my last disconnect and this is what I saw: Quote:
