problem using dpkg to install Opera

Probably a dumb question but i've just downloaded the .deb from Operas website, (picked Ubuntu e.t.c.). Clicked the package which opened up the dpkg front-end. Went to install and got the error:

'authentication failure'

How do i fix this, and how is it that a package specifically for my platform (i did make sure i picked Breezy too), fails to install.

Thanks in advance]

Eric

You need to sudo in order to install something. Use the command line instead:

sudo dpkg -i opera_8.50-20050916.6-shared-qt_en_etch_i386.deb
