ping work,ssh can not work

I try to connect my laptop to desktop..
I install ubuntu on laptop, suse on desktop.

Now ,the desktop can use ssh to connect my laptop, but laptop can not connect to desktop

I tried ping desktop, it works fine.

When I type:
Code:
# netstat -tlnp |grep 22
I see
Code:
tcp6 22 listen
If I do same work on desktop,it show me:

Code:
tcp 22 listen
The difference just is tcp and tcp6..

Anyone has experience on it??

try telnet ip port
example telnet 192.168.4.20 22
if it connects that port 22 (SSH) is open.

You might also want to check the iptables. Try iptables -f on the box you are trying to connect to and try again. if it works then there is a firewall issue...

Maybe this is quite obvious, but did you check that your Desktop has the ssh-server package installed? I saw that o different occasions in Ubuntu and other distros. There seems to be different packages for ssh-client and ssh server sometimes. Both can be installed via the ssh package, but don't have to be by default...
