OpenOffice.org crashes when used along with SCIM/Skim when I press Shift+Z

Hi,
I am new to Dapper Drake. My work involves entering text in Hindi. So I am trying to use OpenOffice.org (oo.o) along with SCIM / Skim. I have to enable SKIM along with oo.o by this line in .bashrc -
Quote:
export GTK_IM_MODULE=scim
Then when oowriter starts up and Skim panel is displayed, I choose Hindi phonetic keyboard layout and start entering text.
But as soon as I press the key-combination Shift+Z, to produce a particular character in Hindi called 'chandra bindu', oo.o crashes. It happens each time I press this particular key-combination.
Any idea how I can overcome this problem.
OpenOffice.org version is 2.0.2, the one that comes along with Dapper Drake.
Moreover, if I try to change keyboard layout using setxkbmap I get the following error -
Quote:
Error loading new keyboard description
Could it be responsible for my problem?
