OpenGL applications and Beryl

I have problem with opengl applications and beryl running at the same time. Whenever I try to run OpenGl application like Celestia or Windows game with wine, that application becomes disorted.. Look at the picture...

http://www.code-it.net/downloads/disort.png

I held Print Screen key for some time to get more screenshots, in Celestia you see black-white earth and a part is missing. In screenshot windows you see it how it should look like. Application is fine I it stays still, if I am not moving it, resizeing it, etc.. The same problem is with video when output is set to opengl...

I have to disable Beryl while I am using those applications...

So I am curious if there is a fix for this problem? Maybe some options in xorg.conf file?

Thanks for help!

Are you sure you're running the absolute latest stable Beryl and Xorg? Also, which video card, and how new is the driver? Also, have you tried Compiz-Fusion? Beryl is merging into Compiz; there probably won't be any future updates to Beryl.

I prefer Beryl... I tried compiz, but Beryl has more features that suites me...

Is the 915resolution package installed? Also, a bit of Googling tells me that you'll need the i915GM driver from Intel for your graphics card if you want to run Beryl correctly.

Well, I installed it and it doesn't help but I don't think that I need it. As much as I know it's used to fix resolution problem which I don't have.

Now I tried Compiz Fusion, it's great, but too buggy, I'll wait for the stable release. The problem exist with Compiz Fusion too...

Which version of celestia are you using? 1.3.1 mentions in the changelog that they fixed the "hole in the sky" bug...maybe that's the bug you're having?

If that's the case, then it's either Beryl's (and Compiz's) fault, or AIGLX's fault. If it's AIGLX's fault, then one possible work-around is to disable AIGLX and run XGL (an X server that provides a separate hardware-accelerated rendering infrastructure from X.org and runs as an X client) on top of X.org, giving you the same capabilities but without AIGLX. You can find some how-tos in this forum with a bit of searching . If that doesn't work, then unfortunately you'll just have to wait until Compiz-Fusion fixes it :/. You may wish to submit a bug report to ensure the developers know about the flaw.
