is there any provision to update an Ubuntu machine which isnt connected to a working internet .
I found a project named kyrx , but the link doesnt work properly , kindly anyone point me the best way to do this !!
1) Create a folder on the Desktop called "Updation" (Ilike this made up word.)
2) Download the most recent packages and all of their dependencies to that folder.
3) Create a set of DVDs from the folder. You may need to create other folders such as "Ubuntuficationilationated" and "Linuxmakesmeextragangster".
4) Use the ubuntuforums to search for a howto on properly creating resources. Follow the guide when creating media resources.
5) Add the resources to synaptic and disable all other resources which are dependable upon a connection.
6) Reload the resources list.
7) Use the update/upgrade tool on synaptic to mark packages automatically.
8) Manually mark the packages you want upgraded.
9) Hit apply.
Follow the other steps according to a normal installation, replacing media when prompted.
