Not receiving links in either Evolution or Thunderbird..

OK, there has to be a setting or something I'm missing.

I was having a problem where I couldn't receive links in Evolution. It would come across as plaint text, instead of a clickable link. I was trying to pick up on Evolution, as I like it, and was just messing with it here and there. So I went back to Thunderbird, and lo and behold, I'm having the same problem there.

Any ideas? Ubuntu 6.06, Thunderbird 1.5.0.7, Evolution 2.6.1

Thanks
IGF

Gmail related?

OK, did a little more investigating, installed some other mail programs, etc, and tihs is what I've found so far..

I'm using a GMAIL account, and can send/receive mail via Evolution 2.6.1, Thunderbird 1.5.0.7 and Mozilla 1.7.12 ( I prefer Evolution, but wanted to test this problem to make sure it wasn't Evolution related). The issue is receiving links. Whenever someone sends me a link, it comes up in plain text, instead of a clickable link.

I set myself up some dummy accounts on other services(yahoo, hotmail and aol), and I can send links to any of the services listed above, and they work fine. Receiving links though, they all come up in plain text, except for hotmail.com. For some reason, if I send an email from hotmail, it comes up as a clickable link.

I've went through my Gmail settings, followed all the tutorials, etc, and I'm not seeing the problem. Also, just as another check, I booted my Ubuntu DVD in live version, set up Evolution, and it still was doing the same thing.

This leads me to believe its a problem with my Gmail settings, or something I'm not setting within Ubuntu, but I'm not seeing it.

Is it possible you are viewing your messages as plain text ? Did you try HTML as your default setting ?

Oddly enough, If I view emails as plain text, Links come through just fine. If I view them in HTML, they don't work. This of course, screws things up if I get sent a picture, etc. Its this way with all 3 programs. I haven't had much time to address this "problem", so I've not come up with a solution.
