normal versions vs LTS versions

Hello all;

After the quantity of problems I have had in one of my PC's with Ubuntu 9.10 x86_64, I have a doubt regarding the differences between the normal version of Ubuntu and the ones presented as LTS version.
The development process is identical in both versions? Are the LTS versions more tested or with more stable packages?
I am very interested in these questions, because if LTS version tend to be more stable, I will stich to them from the next version on..

Thank you all in advance,

regards,

Alberto

LTS versions are no different from ordinary versions while they are young; they have just as many bugs. The difference is they will be supported for longer and thus have longer to have more bugs fixed and so become more stable.
