No traceroute command in Ubuntu?


WHere the heck is the traceroute command in Ubuntu???

Thanks, that did the trick.

I wonder why the traceroute command is not built into Ubuntu. It's such a vital tool in networking. Very odd!

System-> Adminstration-> Network_Tools provide a GUI collection of tools like traceroute, ping, netstat, port scan and others. Perhaps that why the CLI version isn't there by default.

Commands "mtr google.com" and "tracepath google.com" are much better than traceroute, and are built in.
