No sound on Ubuntu 9.10 on my Amilo Pa1510

Clean install of Ubuntu 9.10
No audio.

Getting the message that I dont have any soundcard on this system when I type "alasamixer" in my terminal.
Have had sound when I was running ubuntu 7.10 and 8.10 on this labtop.
Asked a friend of mine for help, he mentioned that this was an ALSA bug O.o

Have tried the instructions over at ubuntuforums

Oooo, this makes me so mad! The culprit may be PulseAudio - unstable, experimental software that the developers insisted on making the default in Karmic! There is a helpful thread on Ubuntu Forums that might be useful here. PulseAudio has been a major headache for alot of Ubuntu and Kubuntu users (Xubuntu does not ship with PulseAudio).

It could also be a hardware issue, though. Maybe one of the gurus here can offer some help if the link above doesn't help.
