no access to web page with audio stream

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
My computer functions good, I can see and play almost everything, but I have no access to the following web page: http://flusserstream.khm.de/flussers...&chapter_id=16

When I try to open it, it says done and nothing happens.

What do I need to make it well?

Thanks for the quickly answer.
I installed the mplayer plug-in for firefox, but the mentioned web page doesn't work.

I have some limitations in my web browsing experience, some embedded videos and this web page with audio streams.

I need access to this site, it is an academic material, very important for me.

Thanks anyway,
Gerardo Santana

Looks to me as though you need java to be installed. Is it installed?

Yes - but what about java? Is it installed?

edit: sorry - did not notice that you answered that in the title...
if it just does not play the following might still help - if you do not see anything eighter - sorry then.
It is a java problem in this case I suppose.
/edit

For the other idea:
(BTW: it works for me as for the others - I can hear the stream and see the text scroll by.)

Right-clicking the text-area produces a context-menu which pointedly says: "show context"
if I ask it to do so - the whole text is shown in a separate window - much easier to read and no need to listen to him

HTH

another thing that does work for me is:
disassemble the URL and put it back together...

This way you can at least get the audio files - or get to hear them directly.

-->This is the base directory on the server where the audio files are stored:
http://flusserstream.khm.de/flusserstream/ogg/

then look at the name for the audiofile - which is contained in the URL you got:
...play_chapterfile.php?audiofile=ogg/<blahblah.ogg>&textfile=txt/...
- or which you get from the overview:
http://flusserstream.khm.de/flussers...?chapter_id=16

Here is the audio for your example:
http://flusserstream.khm.de/flussers...tikIII1a01.ogg

An ogg file: You'll probably need libogg0 libshout3 and vorbis-tools to be installed.

You say you have java installed but is it enabled in your browser?

Which browser are you using? The page works fine in FFox 2.0.0.22 and konqueror 3.5.10

May be after the last update, the audio streams from http://flusserstream.khm.de/flussers...w_chapters.php
work very well.

I'm happy and I send a lot of thanks to the people, who tried to help me.

I'm quite sure it was nothing as deeply hidden as this might imply.
The important thing is: you are happy - and be it for a reason as profane as "things working..."

All the best!
