Need to reformat LVM2 disk.

I have two disk on my system. (info below) The 60GB disk (sda) is extended, the 160GB disk (sdb) is LVM. Everything is currently on sda. I would like to do two things:
1. reformat sdb from LVM to extended (so it's the same as sda)
2. put /home on sdb.

I noticed on Kubuntu under System Settings/Advanced/System Administration, there is a Disk and File System utility. I tried to use it but in doesn't seem to set up. Says the control module is either orphaned or an old third-party module is present.

I just recently upgraded to 7.10 (from 7.10RC), but I fear that might be a different problem all together.
