Ok, so I have a harddrive that I am using for windows xp and I wanted to install Ubunutu. So I installed Ubuntu on a different partition; but, I recently got a new harddrive and I'm going to intall Ubuntu on that so I don't need to have it installed on my first harddrive anymore. My question is when I install it on my second harddrive and it installs grub. Will grub still pick up windows xp from my first harddrive? I am wondering this because I tried to use my partition manager to format my second partition that has Ubuntu on it and I had to restart my computer; but, it corrupted grub where I couldn't even boot up my computer into any OS and I ended up having to hunt down my Ubuntu installation disc. Also if grub will not pick up windows xp from my other harddrive are there any free /good boot managers that I could use for the time being?

Grub (if installed to the MBR) should pick up Windows from the first drive. I've done this before and seen others do it.

Thank you. Yeah grub messed up again for some reason so I decided to go ahead and give it a shot without actually knowing . I am thinking it has to do with moving almost everything to a new computer with a different processor. I'll eventually get it all sorted out. I always do. If I don't....I guess I'll stick to Ubuntu and give windows the finger lol.
