ndiswrapper stops working on Kernel update

Does anyone know why with each Kernel update, there was one this morning, my networkmanager gets knocked out of wack? This time the "bars" icon is working on my Dell Inspiron 1200 but I have to use command lines to connect to my router. The last time this happened I reinstalled ndiswrapper and my wireless driver and got it working again. Am I going to have to do this with each kernel update? Maybe I am installing ndiswrapper incorrectly. It takes a lot of time to reinstall.

Nope it's not your fault, just like the nvidia driver for linux. You need to reinstall it each time you upgrade the kernel. Because the application is not build against the right kernel.

You could try though to do: module-rebuild rebuild

This will rebuild the modules too work with the new kernel. I don't know if this is available on ubuntu. It is on Gentoo which i use.
