MythBuntu install

Hi, haven't posted here in a really long time.

Anyway, my roommate and I are setting up a home media server and trying to get MythBuntu to run on it. The install works fine but once I reboot Grub will lock up. I found through a little research that this may be due to the Sata drive and bios being configured for raid. So I turned off raid and it started once but loaded to a black screen.

Thinking I configured the wrong tv out setting, I reinstalled and tried a different setting and Grub now locks up again (raid is still turned off). That would be one issue I need to overcome.

The other issue is with the tv out setting. Not sure what I'm supposed to select. It's a DVI to HDMI connection. Does anyone know if it should be component, composite or simply disabled?

thx

try this not sure what kernel you are using but I did find this happen on one of the kernels I up graded to. the splash was the problem not built into the kernel right then a about a week later they had a up date.
At the grub menu push esc key this will bring you to the console grub push e key to edit the kernel line. i then delete the quiet splash and type vga=normal. then press enter then press the b key to boot.
you will then have to go into the /boot/menu.1st and edit it. But a good chance if you just up date your system a new kernel will be install and your grub will be updated.

This is only if you just get a blank screen and nothing happens when you go to boot that kernel.
Good Luck.

Problem is that I can't get into the Grub menu. All I get is:

Grub
Loading.

and it freezes at that point.

Any ideas? I'm still thinking it's an issue with the Sata drive. Should I start up the live disk and try edit the source that way?
