Question Myth Front End Hangs

Hi all,
I have MythTv installed & had it working wholly on the one machine. I also use this machine as a general desktop computer with Gnome.(Ubuntu 10.04) I recently tried using Mythmote from my Android 2.1 HTC Desire.I had also ticked the box for scanning all media, dvd etc. I don't know if this caused the problem. I now have the frontend hanging with no menu with the gray background. Initially I could connect mythmote while it was in this hang state then the front end just quit after about 15 seconds. I tried "mythfrontend --reset" in a terminal. Now the frontend hangs with a blank screen. Here is the the log output

mark@mark-desktop:~$ /var/log/mythtv
bash: /var/log/mythtv: is a directory
mark@mark-desktop:~$ cd /var/log/mythtv
mark@mark-desktop:/var/log/mythtv$ tail mythfrontend.log

<unknown>: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.0.
mount: can't find /dev/sdc in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab
mark@mark-desktop:/var/log/mythtv$

Can anyone help with this fatal IO error if this would be the cause?
I have tried completely removing the frontend with synaptic, rebooting & re-installing. The problem persists with no change.
Thanks.
.

It looks like it's trying to mount a drive that's not listed in /etc/fstab
If it's a removable drive, like a thumb drive, try removing it. Or try mounting it before launching the Mythtv frontend!
(let us know if this helps and then we can look for a more permanent solution!)

Thanks qlue, I don't have any external devices plugged in unless it is seeing the USB dongle for wireless kybd & mouse as media. There is no SDC in the system that I can see. Only SDB1. I have to use the "Force quit" action to close the F/E. Perhaps there is some way of using a BASH command to clear the "Scan all media option as there is no menu in the F/E to select to make config changes.
Solution:
By going into the Disk Utility via System, Administration, I was able to unmount the mounted "SDC" There was no physical device attached to this USB port. After this the frontend menu was restored. From here I was then able to go to the appropriate setup page and uncheck the box that says scan all media. It would seem that the scan all media function was trying to mount all of these devices even when there was no physical devices, ie.thumb dives etc, attached.
