my screen keeps scrolling vertically up-down without any user action

My screen (firefox, krusader, gedit, document viewer, libreoffice, etc) keeps scrolling vertically up-down without any user action

Desktop motherboard EG45M-DS2H
Intel® Core™2 Duo
Graphics Intel® G45/G43 x86/MMX/SSE2
2GB RAM
32bit Ubuntu 15.04

This is annoying. Happens after arbitrary minutes of usage. Makes it difficult to work. Reboot or empty trash or deleting cache/history does not help.

I had the problem in Ubuntu 14.04. Problem continued even after I moved to 15.04.

Request solution or Ubuntu/ CMOS tweak.

I had the same problem on a public computer at work. It was a dirty/stuck mouse wheel.

thanks for reply. i was silent because, the problem did not recur since my previous post. faulty mouse is likely to be the cause of problem. if forum rules permit, i request admin to leave thread open for 2 weeks. thanks again.

Two weeks I don't think anyone would take issue with. It's resurrecting threads after months is something that usually should not be done.

Had the same problem - was an IRQ conflict.
