Hi i wanted to know if i could use the pre-existing gentoo pations for Ubuntu...
IE the partions the boot part and the swap i want to keep the third one... can this be done?
You can certainly use the existing partitions, but AFAIK the Ubuntu installation will overwrite the files in the /boot partition. (Gentoo and Ubuntu use different kernel versions etc. and your new system may not work otherwise.) If you have a separate /home partition you can keep that untouched. Just back it up first in case.
