mirroring hdd to usb hdd with partimage


have t61 lenovo with hardy heron ubuntu 8.04

want to mirror hdd (sata) to usb hdd with partimage live cd.

how?

I'm tempted to give you a flippant answer like, "Just boot it up & do it". But that would neither be helpful, nor explicitly say that your Q is too vague.

How far did you get in the process & what specific problem(s) stopped you from accomplishing your goal?

so I made an image.

but what about making a mirror-copy ...
in order to use the new (copied) hdd as system ?
