Thought I would post this so you would not be on the "unanswered" list.
Had this same problem myself about a year ago when trying Lubuntu. I found the buggers because, at that time at least, the path was listed on the desktop menu. Haven't really looked at it seriously since. Have too many things on here as it is.
Lubuntu is, I think, the best the Ubuntu "family" has to offer.
