lubuntu-blank screen
On my dual core AMD with 2 gig of memory I installed Lubuntu in VirtualBox for testing and the install was very smooth. My primary OS is Ubuntu 10.04 and it runs sweet. When I boot the Lubuntu virtual machine all I get is the arrow cursor and a blank screen. Any Ideas?

I'm not the most patient, so take it with a grain of salt when I say . . .
Get rid of lubuntu and go with Mint9lxde, instead. I had so many login problems followed by instability with lubuntu that this is what I did -- and don't regret it. Best wishes! |
Try CTRL+ALT+Fx to get a console and there you should be able to do some real digging about your issue. I suggest disabling xserver, start by default with a text console and try then step by step to start the xserver and desktop/window manager. Give us some feedback on your progress.
